Mama Melisse (me-Lisa) Hot Sauce is a unique thick Hot Sauce that is fruity, spicy, sweet, and Hot.
Mama Melisse lives in Mornington Vic and makes her famous Hot Sauce with her Daughter & Husband, using her 100yr old family recipe from Ceylon. They make the sauce the old fashioned way and even de-stem the local fresh Birds Eye chilli’s by hand!
It is Vegan, Dairy, Nut, and Gluten Free. 450g shipping weight.

Use as a condiment, for cooking, as a pizza topping, mix it with Cream Cheese, sour cream, or yoghurt.

HISTORY

Mama Melisse (Melisse Fernando) was born in the beautiful spice island of Ceylon, which is known today as Sri Lanka. Melisse learnt to cook with a vast, rich variety of the finest spices in the world. Mama Melisse was taught by her mother to cook delicious authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, of which the quality of cooking was so highly regarded that her brother went on to be a chef for the Saudi Royal Family.

Melisse migrated to Australia where she started her family. Melisse worked in heavy labour factories to support and raise her 2 children. It was her time with her family and friends that Mama Melisse cherishes the most.

During special family occasions, Mama Melisse would create many deliciously exotic dishes, rich with the perfect blend of aromatic spices to create an extravagant taste experience.

Unable to find a good convenient locally available hot sauce, Mama Melisse started to brew her own using an original homemade secret recipe that was handed down through generations, that was when Mama Melisse Hot Sauce was born.
