Jack Daniel’s aging involves charring new American white oak barrels toasted and heavily charred on the inside, and storing them in unheated Barrelhouses in Tennessee, allowing natural hot & cold temperature swings to expand and contract the whiskey, pushing it into the wood to extract sugars, tannins, and color, with standard whiskey aging for 4 years or more.
